How to integrate Paymo with Square

Learn how to integrate with Square for your payments

Square is a payment gateway that allows you to accept payments from your clients. Once the integration is activated, a client will be able to pay you directly from the invoice you've sent, and you'll receive the money into your Square account.

How to get paid via Square

In order to connect your Square and Paymo accounts, follow the next steps:

  1. Make sure you are logged into your Square account.  
  2. Go to your Paymo account > Company Settings > Online Payment Gateways 


  1. Select "Square" from the list, and click on Connect With Square

4. On the next step, you'll be asked to allow Square to access your Paymo account. Click the "Allow" button.

5. You'll be redirected to the Online Payment Gateway section and you'll notice that your Square and Paymo accounts are now connected.

6. If there are multiple locations in your Square account, from the dropdown menu, select the one where the money will be sent.

7. Go to the bottom of the page and click on "Apply and Save Settings". Your Square and Paymo accounts are now connected.

How your clients will pay invoices online via Square:

1. Go to Invoices > Add New Invoice
2. Make sure that the "Accept Online Payments" option is checked.

3. Send the invoice to the client.
4. When the client receives the invoice he has the option to pay it online.

5. From the next screen, the client has to choose Pay with "Square".

6. The payment screen will open, and the client can enter payment details, and then click on Place Order.

7. After the order is placed, the money will appear on your Square account instantly.
