When generating a new invoice tied to projects, tasks, timesheets, and expenses related to both projects and retainers, the resulting invoices will be automatically connected to their respective projects.
There are two methods to identify this connection:
Projects → select the project → Finance
Invoices → select the invoice and check the top left corner of the invoice
How to link projects to invoices manually
Projects can be linked to invoices manually as well. This works both for new projects and historical data. To do that you need to go to Invoices → select the desired Invoice → Link with projects and select from the list of projects for that client.
